...praise God for co-workers who have...
Amazing that it's already 2004 eh?! Well, things are really
progressing for us. It is Sunday January 18th, 2004, and on Thursday January 22nd, 2004,
we will board a plane that is the first of a few whose final destination will be Nampula,
Mozambique. It's hard to believe isn't it! God has really been amazing in His provision
for us. E-mail is a wonderful thing. We have been able to dialogue with our co-workers
currently in Mozambique about many things including everything from getting picked up at
the airport to finding an apartment to rent and much more.
God has brought in some more one-time gifts towards our travel and setup costs. We now
have received around $17,000 of $30,000 needed. Some of our expected costs have gone up
and surprised us (we paid around $4,000 for all our inoculations and shots) and others
have gone down. Our $4,000 plane ticket to Mozambique from South Africa has been shared
with other individuals to bring our overall cost down to around $1,300! Praise God.
If Laura, Suzanne, Debra
and Rose go out for lunch, they will call each other Laura, Suzanne, Debra and Rose. |
If Mike, Charlie, Bob and
John go out, they will affectionately refer to each other as Fat Boy, Godzilla,
Peanut-Head and Scrappy. |
We praise God for
co-workers have been able to sign a contract for rent on a house for us at about
$600 per month with first three months up front.
We were able to visit a large portion of Laurel's
family in Maryland over the Christmas holidays, and really enjoyed our time with them. All
of her siblings were able to be there! We will keep you as up-to-date as we can on what is
going on with us. Thank you for praying and for giving. Please continue to pray for us
spiritually, mentally, financially, physically, and any other lly way you can!:-)
We praise God for:
| Tremendous provision of one-time financial gifts |
| Travel safety |
| Wonderful and encouraging friends and co-workers |
| Housing while we were in Missouri |
Please pray for:
| A continued increase in finances |
| The families still in Brasil as they press forward with
their Portuguese, and plan for the move to Moçambique. |
| Ability to continue to learn Portuguese even though we are
in the U.S. |
| Wisdom for the many decisions still to be made |
| Health for our family during this time |
